Cope Racing Transmissions offers low-cost high quality reconditioned and new planetaries gear sets for your 727 torqueflight. You can get planetaries with washers or with roller and needle bearings. Before you buy, you will have to know the year of your output shaft as there are three year changes that Chrysler made at the front splines of the output shaft. The most common is 1962-1975. Then there is the 1976-1993 and the 1994 and up. The spline count is the same on all years shafts, the change is made in the contact angle on the spine pitch. 1962-1975 is 45*, 1976-1993 is 37.5* and the 1994 and up is 30* of pitch, this is hard to see. There is an easy to find out what year the output shaft you have so you know what year front planetary spline you will need. (see output shaft tech for year identification) All our 3 & 4 pinion aluminum planetaries are completely dissembled and inspected. All worn gears, washers, pins are replaced and the carrier housing is glass beaded and engraved with our logo and a year identification, then milled on our CNC for roller and needle bearings. Our 5 pinion steel planets are broached to fit the 62-75 spline and are brand new.
To help you identify what year planetary gear set will fit your 727 transmission/output shaft, please read and click on the picture to the right. Output Shaft Tech: Going from top to bottom, 1st shaft fits 62-64 727 push button. 2nd shaft fits 1965 cable case 727s only. 3rd shaft fits 66-75, 4th staft fits 76-93. NOTE: all 62-75 shafts use the same front planet splines (45*) The 76-93 shafts use a (37.5*) front planet spline and has an extra groove (see the pointer in the picture) near the slip yoke splines.1994 and up 727 shafts not shown in picture. Note: Our hardened output shaft only comes in 1962-1975 spline.
